Thank you so much to Karen Mcgowan and the Mbala pony club for holding the le trec event as a fund raiser for Moses - below please find the email from Karen giving details:

Dear Friends
Thank you all so very much for your e-mails and pledges from abroad and the support locally for our le trec this weekend, in order to raise funds for Moses.

The weekend was a huge success with heaps of fun had by all the kids and horses, and adults too, they were all fantastic. Thank you all of you who came along to watch and often wait patiently. Thank you to Dr and Mrs Pandya for being to hand should we have needed you – luckily we didn’t. Our thanks also go to Zoe and Michael Kayes who brought horses and riders, to Ann Fitzmaurice who drove down from Lilongwe with 4 wonderful girls who rode amazingly on our horses and ponies, and to all the Zomba and the 4 Blantyre riders who came to make the day so special. They were all absolutely terrific and we are so proud of you all!

We had such a fun time and have raised over MK100,000 through entry fees, t shirts the raffle and drinks, along with a couple of donations!

They all wore Moses T shirts as you can see from the pics attached, and we even had a little stilt walking demo!

Thank you for all the kind donations for our raffle : La Caverna, Shoprite, An Pyman, the Christie family, Jayn & Brian Burgess, the Borgstein family, Pam Badger & Zoe & Michael Kayes – the raffle alone raised MK42,000, mainly from our little community in Zomba and the McGowan’s generous friends! Also thank you to our friends who generously donated cash. We have raised through the le trec weekend MK116,650. We’d also like to thank you also to the schools who took up a lesson to talk about Moses and the importance of our wild life in Malawi. We do have a few T shirts left for primary sized children, selling @ MK2,200. Please call me if you would like one and I will arrange to get it to you.

If any of you have made direct donations to Jenny for Moses, I would be most grateful to hear from you so that we know ourselves how much has been raised through our Pony Club event letter.

Once again, many thanks to all.

Karen, Ewen & Kate McGowan
