JUMBO UPDATE 26 APRIL 2013

Success at last I have found blue gum poles!!!!!

I deposited the money to Press Agriculture today to pay for the poles and as soon as the cheque has been cleared through the bank they will give me permission to go onto one of their estates to start cutting and as soon as I can get the poles on site I can start getting a welder to make the steel brackets to hold the poles that I need to build into the foundations. We need to make every effort to keep the pesky ...

Jumbo update 19 April 2013

Life at Jumbo has returned to normal after the Chad trip, have caught up with everything at the office,  further increased security after our 2nd robbery in a month and intent to get back onto my search for poles for the barn this weekend. Jumbo update 8 March 2013

The sourcing of the blue gum poles that I need for the roof structure and for the uprights to fix the roof onto is proving to be a major battle. I have contacted every one that I can think of and still have a couple of possibilities but nothing concrete yet, I tend to be rather an impatient person who, once a project has started, wa...

Jumbo update 1 march 2013

Today I thought we would go back to reminiscing about animals that have shared our life in the past.  Over the years we have had a number of lesser bush babies or night apes as they are more commonly known and their bigger cousins the galago or bush baby. These little guys are often orphaned as the tree in which their mother has built a nest for them is chopped down for firewood. As their names suggest they are nocturnal creatures, sleeping all day and waking up ...
