JUMBO UPDATE 20 September 2013

I am writing todays update with my WAR (Wildlife At Risk) hat on.

  A few months ago a lovely lady Christina Russo sent me an email.  She is a journalist and conservationist who is passionate about doing something to create awareness for the plight of elephants and had met a good friend Dr Catherine Wood in the USA who had suggested that she contact me.  Christina was wanting to do research on elephant orphanages and whether they were still relevant in today...

JUMBO UPDATE 13 SEPT 2013

We start off our update this week by thinking of our American supporters, particularly those of you who lost loved ones in the dreadful 9/11 tragedy.  I know that whilst time does heal the pain of loss the scar is always there and I would ask you all to spare a moment to think of those people all around the world who carry that burden of loss and the elephant families who suffer the same emotional traumas as we do when they suffer a loss.

Our little Jumbo baby Catherine had her first birthday this week and it really brought back memories of the day that we brought the tiny little preemie baby home and the events leading up to this.

Jumbo update 23 August 2013

This update consists primarily of a number of thank yous to kind people who have helped us over the past few weeks.

For the last 18 months or so we have been sending moringa leaf powder up to Tanzania for a little ele called Mr Brrr. Moringa is a great immune booster, source of protein, calcium and vitamin C all of which are very important in an eles  diet and is used quite extensively with malnourished babies.
